Keene State College is offering a one-week intensive workshop on diamond turning machining for precision optics. This 5-day course covers the fundamentals of turning machining, including tool selection, setup, and operational control, as well as measurement using advanced metrology instruments.

Daily Workshop Outline

Day 1 -  Intro to Diamond Turning

Day 2  - Tooling and Metrology

Day 3   - Techniques for Optical Design using Diamond Turning

Day 4 – Applications and Industry Insight

Day 5  - Presentation of Machined and Inspected Products

Participants will learn to cut parts with various geometries through hands-on activities, practical demonstrations, and interactive discussions. The workshop aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of diamond turning technology, covering topics like optical-mechanical design, fixture design, and the manufacturing of metal, infrared, and plastic optics.
