Strengthen Your Workplace Through Knowledge

IMPORTANT:  Online OSHA numbered courses are available to participants working or living within the jurisdiction of Region 1 New England States (NH, VT, ME, MA, CT, RI). This requirement per the Directorate of Training and Education/OSHA.

Exceptions to the New England rules of engagement may include:
1) You have been a certificate program participant in Region 1, alumni or have a long time verifiable (by transcript) relationship with the OTI Education Center, Region 1
2) You are an OSHA authorized outreach trainer wishing to reauthorize in New England/ Region 1

States in New England are enacting laws requiring safety measures be at least as protective as the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) for state and municipal employees. The goal is to stem the high human and financial toll of workplace injury, illness and death. Public sector employees face just as many on-the-job risks and dangers as those in the private sector. By participating in educational courses meeting OSHA’s learning objectives, workers learn to protect not only themselves, but fellow employees. Achievement of a certificate in Safety and Health Fundamentals, signed by the OSHA Directorate of Training and Education, pays off in employee well-being and saves the taxpayers costly workers compensation costs. By creating and sustaining a culture of workplace safety, everyone wins!

What is the purpose of the Safety & Health Fundamentals certificate program?
