Course Description

The online workshop will introduce teachers to the student readings, lessons, and videos in the recently revised (2022) Choices curriculum unit, Confronting Genocide: Never Again.  The unit includes case studies on the Holocaust, the Armenian Genocide, the Rwandan Genocide, the Bosnian Genocide, the Cambodian Genocide, the genocide in Sudan and the recently added OvaHerero-Nama Peoples genocide. The focus of the session will be on experiencing several abbreviated lessons from the unit so that participants can determine how to implement the materials in their unique classroom.

The cost of the workshop includes digital access to the Choices curriculum unit, Confronting Genocide: Never Again

Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable. The last day to register for this workshop is January 4.

Presenter Bio:  Mimi is Professional Development Director for the Choices Program. Prior to joining the Choices Program in 2011, Mimi worked at Clark University where she served as the Director of the Teacher Center for Global Studies supporting K12 social studies teachers throughout Massachusetts for more than 20 years. Mimi holds a Masters in International Development and Social Change from Clark University.
