Course Description

The class will help students understand workplace chemical hazards and their impact on human health.  First part will focus on Toxicology and explaining how different chemicals impact human body through exposure, absorption, metabolic processes and excretion.

 

The second part of the class will provide students with tools for identifying hazardous chemicals in the work place and for managing them in a safely manner. During the class OSHA’s HAZCOM standard 1910.1200 will be reviewed, SDS components will be explained, and manufacturer and workplace label requirements will be studied.

 

Every employee using chemicals in the work place, supervisors, as well as health and safety professionals that would like to improve existing programs or put the basis of a new one will benefit from taking this class.
